This map displays the AOI's FEMA uses for satellite tasking to monitor during national disaster events. The "FEMA AOIs for Satellite Collection" layer is prioritized for post-event SAR data collection that is based on best-available hazard data (wind, surge, riverine flooding), population data, and social vulnerability/demographics and then generalized into more specific AOI's based on evaluation of model outputs. AOIs will be updated daily with latest hazard data during national disaster events.Surge Projection and Wind Projection layers were used to delineate "Hurricane Michael AOI Optical Layer."
