This resource is designed to be an outreach and engagement tool highlighting the value of FEMA's non-regulatory flood risk products. Flood Risk Products (FRPs) transform traditional flood
mapping efforts into an integrated process of identifying, assessing,
communicating, planning for, and mitigating flood-related risks. FEMA created
Flood Risk Products to be used alongside regulatory products like the Flood
Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs).
FRPs are non-regulatory, ready-made sources of flood risk
information that can improve how stakeholders visualize local natural hazard
risks and mitigate potential damage from future hazards. FRPs include the Flood
Risk Database, Flood Risk Map, and Flood Risk Report. The database comprises
seven datasets. This story map explores three of these datasets, the Changes
Since Last Firm, Water Surface Elevation Grid, and Depth Grid.Data layers included in this application should not be used in analysis. For the most up to date layers please visit FEMA's Map Service Center.Relevant Geographic Areas: Virginia Beach, VA; Lower Susquehanna, PA; West Point, VA
