The Vermont Tick Tracker is a way to share and see crowdsourced information on ticks found in Vermont.A few things to remember:Use this data with caution.Because this is a project powered by citizen scientists, some of the findings may be more accurate than others. The Vermont Department of Health cannot independently confirm the accuracy of each tick report.Tick activity is seasonal.In Vermont, blacklegged ticks are most active in the spring and early summer, and tick nymphs, which are smaller and harder to see, are most abundant during this time. Adult blacklegged ticks are easier to see and continue to be active in the fall. However, adult ticks may be out searching for a host any time winter temperatures are above freezing.Always Be Tick Smart.The Tick Tracker shows recent tick reports but remember that ticks can be found all across Vermont.Taking steps to prevent tick bites is important no matter where you are!Learn more about the types of ticks and tick activity in Vermont.
